Arts Culture & Heritage

Arts Culture & Heritage

Culture and Heritage cross over into so many aspects of our daily lives – and we have found this to be the case in the third sector, helping a number of charities that might not be primarily associated with the arts.

Whilst at ExtraCare in the 1990s, Michael secured a number of Arts Council Grants for innovative engagement programmes for older people around the country: Perhaps it says something about how long we’ve been around that funders included Southern Arts, West Midlands Arts and East Midlands Arts – all of which are, of course, now part of Arts Council England.

At Coventry Cathedral, we sourced funds for projects that restored artworks, created virtual platforms and reached out through education and participation

Thereafter, over a period of more than 10 years, we have provided direct fundraising support to some incredible arts, cultural and heritage based charities: Be it three years with Armonico Consort, raising funds for their workshop programmes in schools around the UK, or bespoke targeted engagement with others arts groups.

The extensive lists of projects undertaken, sourcing trust, individual and corporate backing includes;

  • Godiva Awakes Trust – a year-long engagement advising on fundraising
  • Highly Sprung – a one-off piece of work sourcing new grants
  • Music for Autism – a regularly renewed engagement, sourcing new funds around the country

Alongside this, whilst leading Coventry’s City of Culture fundraising, Michael helped local arts charities to secure funds that showcased their offer and helped win the national title for 2021.
