Over the last year, we have given £10K to good causes. Sometimes, the smaller donations have made the biggest difference – or been the most quirky.
Take this example – our offering a prize to the best work created by those aged 16-18. Read on for details and do get those talented youngsters to apply!
PRESS RELEASE:
After hearing that Coventry Cathedral could not stage school visits during lockdown, local businessman Michael Mogan MBE, sponsored a new video which could be shared freely with schools.
Upon seeing the final edit, Michael and Cathedral Education Director, Emma Griffiths, were “blown away”.
When Chris mentioned that the final video only included a fraction of the footage, an idea of a schools competition was born. Chris and Michael have sponsored a prize for local schools to create their own 3 minute film using the footage.
24 minutes of film rushes will be made available to schools to support the Media Studies curriculum. Students are encouraged to think imaginatively to create their own unique Cathedral film. They might utilise graphics to tell the story of the Cathedral; include their own bespoke voice-over; or even gather their own new materials from interviews filmed with school staff/students.
Chris’s video can be viewed on Youtube at https://youtu.be/c8yXeL5BCvE
Film entries should be sent to pinsharp@hotmail.co.uk via We Transfer or Dropbox by 31st March 2021. Entrants may need to compress the film to keep within the 2GB limit.
Details can be found on Coventry Cathedral website www.coventrycathedral.org.uk/wpsite/school-visits/ or emailing Chris Noonan directly at pinsharp@hotmail.co.uk
All entries must be uploaded by Wednesday 31st March 2021 and winners will be announced on Easter Sunday.
